Plans for the Center include museum and exhibition spaces, a 1,500-capacity performance venue, an intimate 125-capacity lower-level performance space, recording and media facilities, educational spaces, archival research, a bar and restaurant, and spaces for community gatherings and creative programming.
Accessibility is also an important part of the design, with plans including ADA-compliant entrances, an elevator, accessible bathrooms and other accommodations throughout the Center. Some of the new construction shown in the renderings is specifically designed to meet these needs while preserving as much of the historic character of the former St. Jean Baptiste Church as possible.
The renderings are preliminary concepts intended to show the overall vision for the Center and do not represent every detail of the final architectural plans.
